Ok so I didn’t get a wild hair the other night and trim and make the binding for the grandmothers garden quilt, instead I finished this cute little pillow I made awhile back and kept forgetting to pick up stuffing for it. Once I got the stuffing it was all done in about 15 minutes. I also got the binding made and sewn on another quilt…

My friend Helen was by the other day to visit when Wendy and my grandbabies were here… she made these cute flowers and pin cushions for me…she is always so thoughtful.. she even brought a little gift for Molly and Tyler.

Love the flowers, I will have to attach them to a bag or a sweater or something, very pretty.

One of my clients make this cute little bag for me. Across the top sewn into the casing length is a piece of metal measuring tape. It pops open and close, you know how measuring tapes works, it’s pretty fun to play with too.. I am easily amused I guess

Here are 2 little cute quilts to show. The first she is using for a wall hanging is a room she is redecorating.

A cute little cowboy quilt for her grand baby, with minkie on the back. Love that minkie.

Over the long weekend we took a good walk next to the Kern River, AKA the Killer Kern… it really is a dangerous river although it looks really calm here, there are under currents everywhere. Every year there are drowning's there, especially up farther into the Kern Canyon and they say most are people from out of town that just don’t realize how dangerous it is. Very pretty to look at but please don’t go in. If you want to know more or see more pictures just Google it, very interesting.

While walking we saw this tree, I have now clue what it is… there are little orange colored and black colored pods. We found one on the ground and tried breaking it open but it was to hard to even crack a little, you could tell it was hallow. The orange ones look like little pumpkins.. I told hubby it is a pumpkin tree, he didn’t believe me

We also saw a few of these little guys hopping around.. they have the biggest ears. Dennis got a nice close up shot of the ears and you can almost see right through them… I will have to get that picture from him.

A few years ago Hubby made this little picnic table for kids.

He said lets let the kids paint it, so here is what they did.. they had so much fun. Now I have all the hand prints on it except for Retts, he wasn’t here but Rylee painted his name on it for him.

I was a nervous wreck that they were going to touch something else but they did pretty good, only the table and their hands had paint on them.

This is an old photo taken about 10 years ago. She is now a Captain and he is a flight engineer and gunner on the osprey. <~~~~Hoped I spelled that correctly…

I am so very proud of both of them…. they are the parents of Miss Molly and Tyler…

Delicious fluffy heavenly things that barely made it through the front door

I love rising dough, it equals something yummy, and yummy they were. I made 5 pans of the cinnamon rolls and one pan of the caramel pecan, only one of the caramel pecan because it was a new recipe and I wasn’t so sure of it but they were delicious. Mr. Seams to sew and Quilts favorite now. So I gave away all but a few of the caramel rolls and 5 of the cinnamon rolls… Everyone that received them were very appreciative. My friend Chris refers to them as…delicious fluffy heavenly things that barely made it through the front door

Our first tomato from the vine this year.. It was delicious, we ate it with dinner last night.

This quilt was made by my mother in laws aunt a long time ago… she can’t remember exactly when but she is 80 so it was a long time ago… I quilted an all meander on it and still need to trim it and sew the binding on. I have had it done for awhile but just keep putting off making the binding.. Today I took it outside to take a photo. I couldn’t really see for the bright sun but at least I have a picture of it and have it out… who know maybe I will get a wild hair and start the binding tonight. It really it pretty thought and all the fabric is all feed sacks….

I woke up this morning craving these….

I made some the day Wendy and the kids arrived and they were gone in no time flat…

So this morning I whipped up a batch and they are rising now, they won’t be ready in time for breakfast today but tomorrow throw one in the microwave for a few seconds, add a little more icing and it’s like they just came out of the oven.

Also I am trying a new recipe for caramel pecan rolls… I will post about how good they are too

This is a really cute quilt… love this fabric too.. After this client saw my tumbler quilt made with that same fabric she had to make one using it too.. Her grand daughter loves cupcake everything.

Life gets in the way of blogging sometimes

Am I the only one that takes time off from blogging? I try my hardest to keep up but just can’t do it anymore.
So I guess I have the blogging bug again for awhile. I can’t seem to find the time to post regularly anymore but I do read a lot of blogs but don’t always comment either.
My grand babies from Florida have been here for the last two (wonderful) weeks. I miss them terribly already and can’t wait to see them again. We had a good time with them and my daughter. I hated to see them leave but the quiet time is nice too…
My daughter said as soon as they got on the elevator at the airport here Tyler said “ mommy I miss my Grandma” he is such a sweetie.
Now on to some beautiful quilts.

This antique SS quilt is so cute.

Really liked this one too but I can’t remember the pattern. I quilted daisy chain on both of them.

There is just something about red and white quilts that I like but I don’t think I have ever made one… it’s on my to do list though… this lady did not like this quilt when she dropped it off to me but when she picked it up she loved it… she just didn’t think she had done good on it but after quilting it looks really good to her.. I think it looks just as pretty before.

Ok these next 2 quilts are the same quilt…(they are just turned different in the picture) she washed it in something that she thought was a color setting wash but it was some kind of a color catcher and it took all the color out of it.. it still looks nice, really it looks like the same fabric but just in another color way. I wish I could remember the name of the wash she used.
Anyway after all this she wanted to make another one just like it and they didn’t have the kit any longer so she bought the shop demo quilt and brought it to be quilted….

Look at this quilt, it’s one of my favorites and she did really good on it.. funny she started it about 10 years ago and decided it was time to finish it up along with some other UFO’s….. exactly what I need to do… I am afraid to count my UFO’s… but I do need to get started on them soon….

ABC 123 quilt

I am having a hard time finding the time to get to my blog to post or read other blogs but look here I am twice this week

The ABC quilt I made for my little Molly Moo and Tyler. In each bottom corner I quilted each of their names.. A few years ago I also made one for Rylee and Rett, they both love it and have learned so much from it. Rylee makes up the craziest word games to play on it…can’t wait till next month when they are here to give it to them…

I also made them both a Dr Seuss pillow case. They will love these too.

A few customer quilts to show now… the lighting is terrible in this picture, it really purple and yellow. Maria I hope your nephew loved it.

My friend Betty is getting all ready for the 4th of July…she even made 7 patriotic pillow cases for her friends. Love this little flag quilt.

Oh here is what the package looked like when it got here Angela, so glad you put it in a plastic bag in the envelope…I really was afraid to open it and not knowing what caused all the wetness was kind of scary…. all was good though.

I made up a few baby bibs for Molly Moo for when she gets here next month and a few for a friend…. these are the ones for Miss Molly…Don’t you just love that cupcake fabric? I wish now I would have gotten more of it…

I got all my blocks done and some of the rows sewn together… It seams like this quilt is taking me forever, not sure why, it’s so darn easy but it’s big, maybe that’s why…2 more rows then I have to think about a border… love this fabric…it’s so cute and lots of pink….

Hope you all had a good Easter and enjoyed your day. Yesterday was windy and cool here all day.. Last week I thought the warm weather was here to stay but I guess it’s not. I think mother nature fooled us again.

A few months ago Erin over at My Patchwork Life sent me some fabric and here is the little quilt I made from it. It’s just a small bow tie but oh so cute. Go visit Erin’s blog, she makes a lot of cute quilts and things. Thanks again Erin.

How pretty is this Double Wedding Ring quilt… Love the colors in it.

And a beautiful postage stamp quilt. Wish I would have taken a better picture of this one, it’s so pretty.

This one is too cute, it’s made with fairy and roses fabric, very cute and I quilted ribbon and roses on it with a praline pink thread.

The kids were here the other day so we made Easter cupcakes, Rett didn’t want his picture takes so just Rylee here. She loves making cupcakes, she decorated all of these by herself. She is getting pretty good with the pastry bag.

Today was a busy day… first hubby and I stopped at a little quilt show just up the road not far from us.. I saw a couple of my quilt customers/friends there. Today really felt like the first day of spring or maybe summer, it was so nice out and I wanted to be outside but I had already planned on baking bread so that’s what I did… 1 loaf of banana bread and 2 loafs of Amish white bread… both delicious… I took pictures but they are still on my camera so maybe they will make it to the next post.. anyway here are a few more customer quilts.

Wow it really has been a good while since I’ve been here and posted. This is going to be just a quick post… showing some of the customer quilts I’ve quilted in the last few months… is your quilt posted here?

This cupcake quilt is mine.. seems like I have taken forever to get it done.. it has just been sitting and waiting to be finished… my friend Helen was so nice to hem the binding for me.. now it’s hanging on my quilting room wall, I will have to take a picture of it and post it..

Ok now for those of you that live here in Bakersfield you have to try the strawberries out at the Snow Road strawberry patch… they are really good and sweet, actually red all the way through.. they have a little stand right there in front of the field of strawberries… it kind of reminds me of when we lived in Hollister.. there were fruit and veggie stands everywhere….

Oops I almost forgot to post my grandbaby pic of the day…. this is Molly Moo.. poor little baby girl has been sick all week with croup and an ear infection…

I was sick for a few days….. now hubby is having some pretty serious medical stuff going on. I’m getting caught up on quilts and stuff. It’s terrible when your doctor sends you over with an urgent referral and it’s still 3 days before they can get you in.. so hopefully Thursday or Friday. Hopefully things will get somewhat back to normal soon….I have more quilts to show but they are still on my camera, so as soon as I can get them off and have time I will post them.

Today 8 years ago my first grand baby was born… It sure doesn’t seem like it was that long ago.. Rylee has brought so much joy into my life. She’s my little princess and loves coming to my house. If her mama would let her she said she would come and live with me She loves everything crafty and loves to cook… she is my little cupcake baker.

I really wish these photos would have turned out better. This quilt is really cute, the backing is minkie and the pattern looks so pretty quilted on the minkie.

This is the back, see not a good photo at all. But still really cute.

Another nice quilt. Love the colors in this one.

Another day of the ugly gloomy tule fog here in the valley. Everyday this week had been so terribly foggy and Hubby has had to drive to Fresno in it every morning. Today he works in Bakersfield so that means less worry for me. I am so ready for spring and summer to arrive. I need warm weather

This first quilt was made by a friend of mine and I quilted it… it’s for Linus, she does a lot for Linus… I hope they know how lucky they are to have her around. I wish pictures could really show how wonderful a quilt looks, this one is much brighter and prettier in person.

Love this one, it’s a Christmas post card quilt. Each one of the post cards says something really cute on them. I should have gotten close up pictures of them. Oh well just believe me it’s adorable.

Love this heart quilt too… I have the book and all the fabric set out to make it…now I just need to find the time to get it started.

This one is all hand pieced… her grandmother made it… we weren’t sure if it would all work out but it did.. it actually turned out very nice and she loved it.. what a wonderful thing to have a quilt finished up that your grandmother started who knows how many years ago.

This is another one made by my 94 year old customer..…I think she had more energy than I do

Baby bibs and yeast rolls

I think I could make baby bibs all day if they would let me… who are “they” anyway? Really baby bibs are so much fun, all the cute fabrics… quick and easy to make. I found this fabric the other day and knew I had to make more bibs… two of them will be for my little nephew in Indiana and the other two my daughter is giving to her cousin in law as a gift.

Oh also I purchased this fabric for baby boy bibs.. while looking at it at the store all I saw was how cute it was and the cute little animals on it. The next day while pressing it I noticed the flowers… while still as cute as could be I’m not sure it would work for baby boy bibs… what do you think?

I had a some left over fabric from a previous quilt so I stacked it and made this cute little 4 patch table topper…

Mary L.. here are my yeast rolls I was telling you about… I was pretty proud of myself for how they turned out since I had tried homemade bread several times in the past few years and it never turned out…. They were yummy..

It’s been awhile, I’m back

It really has been a good while since I’ve posted… but I’m here now with a few of my quilts to show off.

This first one I love. It’s kind of plain and simple, probably why I love it. The only thing about it is I wish I would have added a small dark border around the center of the quilt before adding the white borders but I ran out of fabric so went with it this way. I guess that’s what makes it mine and unique. Love the pattern I quilted on it. I think it’s called Antique. The binding is sewn on and waiting for the hand sewing, I will get to it this week, hopefully…Oh yeah the whole quilt was cut out using the GO cutter. Very quick and fun to use.

Love the fabric I used for this quilt.One Jelly roll and two charm packs and then a small amount of yardage for the white border. It’s called Bliss, one of my favorite fabrics right now…Quick and easy when everything is all cut out for you….. oh I got some Riley Blake fabrics the other day and it’s so cute too.. I can’t wait to use it. I used a different kind of batting on this one, it was much thicker than what I normally use… not sure yet if I like it.. maybe it would be ok and not so thick feeling if I would have used cotton backing instead of the minkie.

Oh I love this fabric too… the cupcakes look so yummy. I used my GO cutter to cut out the tumblers, it takes hardly no time at all to cute out a whole quilt with the GO cutter. I can’t wait to get a bunch of scraps tumblers cut out and sewn together for a good ol scrappy quilt….

Scrappy quilts are still my favorites of all. Really like this one. It’s the one I use at snuggled up in my chair… Do you all have a favorite quilt you like to use more than others… This one just has the right feel and it’s the perfect size for me on my chair.. it’s so snuggly if snuggly is a word. The backing is a blue with a tiny yellow flower and I quilted it with popcorn panto.

Oh my goodness… I saw these on a blog and had to try them.. I can’t remember which blog it was.

It’s just a box brownie mix and as soon as you take them out of the over push down in the center a Candy Cane Kiss. Very yummy. I like them warm when the kiss is still really soft.

This cute pink quilt would have been a perfect post for Pink Saturday which I haven’t participated in for such a long time. It looks perfect in my pink room but I don’t think she will let me keep it.

Here is the back, she used a really soft flannel backing and I quilted it with a Tulip Pink thread.

Customer quilts and a soccer champ

First of all I had to post my grandson Tyler… This was his first soccer league, he’s only 4 and so proud of his certificate and trophy.
And this one of Molly Moo just because she’s so darn cute.

A few customer quilts. This lady has made 3 red and black log cabin quilts and every time I quilt one it makes me want to make a log cabin too.

This is a nice one too.
This one is really pretty, she wanted a large meander with a little swirl on it. It turned out really nice. Love that tulip block. Wouldn’t that look so cute in pinks and greens too?

It’s in Quiltmaker magazine

I have a few emails asking where I got the pattern for this little table topper. It’s in this magazine, it’s the November/December issue. It’s the Arrowhead block. It’s A very clever block and you will be amazed on how it’s done…. very easy and fun. I just made two blocks for now and made them into a little table topper but I plan on doing a quilt with them later on.. it’s on my to do list…. sorry it took so long to get it posted here Norma but there you go.. Enjoy… oh I went to your blog really quick and plan on going back when I have a little more time.. you have some really cute quilts.

I finished one of my quilts this week.. it’s just a small throw size, I used minkie for the back and tried a new pantograph pattern which right now I can’t remember the name of and I’m to tired to get up and go look for it. So if you really need to know remind me later and I will tell you Love this quilt though, it’s just so snuggly and soft….

This one I cut the tumblers using the GO cutter. I just quilted it today and I can’t remember the name of this pattern either, it’s the first time I’ve used it so it’s not sticking with me to remember it’s name. As soon as I cut the tumblers out and my hubby saw them he claimed the quilt as his….. I guess he loves all the browns.. it looks like a guy kind of a quilt.

Just a few customer quilts to show.

Love this first one with all the squares and the colors are wonderful.

A tee shirt quilt made for her daughter for graduation, a little bit late.. better late than never, right.. she used fleece for the back so it’s a really heavy warm quilt.

You know I love this one with all the pinks and roses in it. I quilted ribbon and roses pattern on it.

Another pretty one, my daughter would love this one with all the purple.

And another beautiful one.

You probably can’t tell but this one is made using golf towels. What a good way to show off your collection of something you love to do. I bet the guy that gets this is going to love it.

Frustrated with blogging

Frustrated!
OK I think I have just about had it with blogging.. blogger won't let me upload photos and when I try it on Picasa it only uploads part of what I chose to upload. I wonder if there is another way to post or another blog host. Any ideas are appreciated.

So here are the photos I did get.
This is that scrappy one I have been working on a little at a time and finally got it done, well the top anyway, it is waiting in line to be quilted and finished. I have some prairie points to add to it but that's after it's quilted.

This little and I do mean little quilt I started Friday night and didn't get to work on it again till last night and finished it up, also in line to be quilted..it's really cute though and so tiny. It measures 16x20

and finally got the borders sewn around my little stitchery.

OH this cute little sachet my friend Helen made for me, it smells so pretty.

I can't believe November is here already..

I guess when you are busy time really does fly by fast. I can't believe it's November already, plus it's been in the high 70's here all week and today is suppose to be 87 and high 80's for the rest of the week... it just doesn't seem like November with this warm weather, I think we are usually cold by now. Not complaining though, I love it.... wish it would stay this warm all winter :)
Finally got the rest of the Dr.Seuss fabric I wanted. Now to watch for a pattern I think would work well with it.

This was a block I saw in a quilt magazine. Very easy and fun to make but I have to many other projects to going so I just made 2 blocks and turned it into a little table topper and it will have to wait it's turn to be quilted.

A couple of customer quilts. Love this first one, so simple but so cute.
The second one here, the log cabin was made by a woman who 95 years young. I told my hubby I hope I can still sew and make quilts at that age. She is very frugal too, she uses every little scrap and pieces them together if they aren't big enough. I don't know where she gets all of her energy.

I have two of my own quilts I'm working on but the photos didn't load so I will have to try them next time. Oh and working on pillow cases to give nieces and nephews for Christmas. They are all so cute, I will try and post them next time too.

Saw blades and customer quilts

Yay, a finish of my own, well almost a finish, I still have a little bit of the binding to sew down on the back and add a label then I can officially say it's finished. The last photo on this post is also a quilt of mine.. I have the quilting all done so after I get the binding sewn on I will post a full picture of it. I love that fabric, I think it's Henry Glass, love his fabrics.

This batik quilt is absolutely beautiful.. The greens are just so striking. I did the panto called Happy Times, perfect for this one.

How pretty is this rose quilt? When the customer dropped this one off she wasn't so sure she liked it or wasn't really happy with the way it turned out BUT when she picked it up she LOVED it. I thought it was pretty all along... I have done the same thing with some of my quilts and after I quited them I loved them.. Quilting just changes the whole look of the quilt...I say it just adds to it's beauty.. you know kind of how make up does for us ladies... lol ... anyway it really is a beautiful quilt....

Really like this panto too but right now I can't remember the name of it....

Stitchery, fabric and cookies, some of my favorite things...
Look what the post man brought me the other day.... I can't wait to get started on it.... I know it's going to have to wait a while but I will get it done sooner or later...

Oh and Moda Bliss fabric. Love this fabric, I'm not sure yet what I'll do with it but I betcha I figure out something :)

Nothing better than a big ol jar of homemade chocolate chip walnut cookies. I made these on Thursday, now there is one little lone cookie left in the bottom of the jar.....

I had some customer quilts to show also but for some reason Picasa would only let me upload 3 photos here.
If I get another chance today I will try and post them but I do have a busy schedule today so it may not be until tomorrow. Oh and I have a cute picture of Rylee and Rett, yesterday was crazy hair day at school.

Aren't these the cutest little pillow cases? The snowman one is for Molly Moo.. because purple is her favorite color even thought she doesn't really know it yet.. her mom loves purple. I think the Santa one will be for Tyler.
I love that Santa fabric and now wish I would have gotten more of it.

This beautiful butterfly quilt is so pretty, it's another one of those that the lady is finishing and selling for the church. A lot of hand work on this one.

When this one arrived she said you are going to need your sunglasses to look at thin one.. I don't think so, I thinks it just perfect and colorful.... love the borders on it too.

Love this pineapple quilt.. I still have never made a pineapple quilt. The lady that made this one said it is really easy..... easier than she thought it would be... I think that's why I keep putting it off, it just looks hard to do.. but maybe I need a good challenge.

Log Cabin quilts are always pretty..

This is one I'm working on.... the one I forget to get border fabric for. The triangles were from a pack of turnovers I purchased on line.... Looking at it now I wish I wouldn't have used the red fabrics... maybe if I make one of the borders red it will look better.

And candy corn cupcakes for the sweet tooth.... We made these a couple of weeks ago when Rylee was here...

Mexican Churros

As you can see from previous posts Rylee loves to cook. As soon as she gets here the first thing she wants to know is what are we going to cook or bake today... She just loves cooking and learning everything about it. She's really good now at reading the recipes and has learned all the measuring cup and spoon sizes.
The other day when she was here we made Mexican Churros. Our first time making these and they were pretty good. Here's Rylee rolling them in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.

She's so funny, I told her I was going to post pictures and the recipe on my blog so she said Grandma take a picture of me sneaking one and put it on your blog... so here she is under the cutting board sneaking a churro... she had already devoured 6 of them.....

These are best I think if you eat them while they are still warm and fresh... To me fried stuff food just isn't good cold unless............ it's fried chicken.. yumm and good piece of cold fried chicken sounds really good right now....

If you make these let me know how you like em....
Churros Recipe

Vegetable or canola oil for frying

1 cup water

1 stick (or 1/2 cup) of margarine or butter

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup all-purpose flour

3 eggs

1 gallon storage ziploc bag

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

In a heavy deep skillet or deep-fryer, heat oil to 360 degrees F (180 degrees C). Oil should be about 1 1/2 inches deep.

In a medium saucepan, heat water and margarine to a rolling boil. Combine the flour and salt; stir into the boiling mixture. Remove from heat and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball, about 1 minute.

Beat in the eggs one at a time into the mixture. Stick with it even if it looks and feels like it won't come together! Spoon the mixture into a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip or in a quart or gallon sized storage bag with a corner snipped off.

Carefully squeeze out 4 inch long strips of dough directly into the hot oil. Fry 5 or 6 strips at once, until golden brown, about 2 minutes on each side. Remove from hot oil to drain on paper towels. Stir together the sugar and cinnamon; roll churros in the mixture while still warm. ENJOY!

I plan on getting a lot of my own sewing done today, lets see if it really works out that way for me.

I've been working on a quilt every night this week but I forgot all about getting some fabric for the borders so I may have to run to the fabric store today. It needs to be Mary Englebrite fabric, I have a feeling it's going to be hard to find. I may end up having to go on line and look for it.

This first quilt is so cute. Holly Hobbie appliqued on the squares. I think she is selling it along with 3 other quilts I just quilted for her, if anyone is interested let me know. I will try and get the others posted later, they are still on my camera.

Pretty brown fence rail quilt. You can't really see it but the gold kind of color is really like a copper and shiny, really pretty in the quilt.

Scrappy log cabin. Love those scrap quilts.

I'm not sure what this pattern is called. She made two of them just alike.

Is it just me or is any one else having issues uploading photos today?.

Looks like they changed things around here on blogger, the upload window is different.. I can only get 2 pictures to upload. Not sure whats going on and I had lot of cute stuff to show today :(

Right now I have to get in my quilting room and get started quilting. Maybe I can try again later. If any one has any ideas on whats going on or tips on how to work the new stuff please let me know..

Rylee's first quilt

Rylee, my little grand daughter made her first quilt a few weeks ago and came last week to quilt it.. we had so much fun, we had to put chairs across the floor in front of the machine so she could reach it and have a way to walk along as quilting. She really did most of the quilting herself... she wanted some cutie stuff in some of the circles so did a cupcake, a flower and a lollipop, then she did swirls in the rest of them. She is so fun, crafty and creative. She is so proud of her quilt... Hopefully this weekend I can get the binding made and sewn on for her.
Goodness I started this little stitchery a good while ago and just remembered I had it. I only had a few things left to stitch on it so it was done in about 20 minutes, why didn't I just do it way back when, probably started something else and got side track. I'm thinking about a scrappy border or maybe just 2 small borders around it and making it a little wall hanging.

The Sack Lunch.

This is an email sent to me from a friend, her hubby is also serving in the military along with my daughter and son in law....please keep them all in your prayers.
The Sack Lunch

I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought. Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation. 'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated nearest to me. 'Petawawa. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Afghanistan After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached the east, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time... As I reached for my wallet, I overheard a soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait till we get to base.' His friend agreed. I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son was a soldier in Iraq ; it's almost like you are doing it for him.' Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best - beef or chicken?' 'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class. 'This is your thanks..' After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.' He handed me twenty-five dollars. Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out his hand and said, 'I want to shake your hand.' Quickly unfastening my seat belt I stood and took the Captain's hand. With a booming voice he said, 'I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.' I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers. Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm. When we landed I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars! Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. 'It will take you some time to reach the base.. It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.' Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their fellow travelers. As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so little...

Eating spiders and showing a few quilts.

Here's Miss Molly Moo.. that's her nick name Molly Moo... I think she's a little bit to much into Halloween right now with eating spiders. They were decorating the front porch and she was sitting in the grass watching, eating spiders, good thing they were fake but still a cute picture... oh yeah she will be dressed as a moo cow for Halloween.... picture to come I'm sure. (Love the bib she's wearing too)
Don't you just love a good ol scrappy quilt? Well here's one that one of my customers made. It turned out really cute and scrappy. I think she said it's going on her guest bed. Wouldn't you love to be a quest under a quilt like that? There is just nothing like a scrappy quilt, they just seem so old fashion and like Grandma use to make, love em.

My friend Helen made this cute little felt snowman mug rug for me.. she's such a sweetie and very talented.

It's all about me, that's the name of this pattern... you use fabrics that tell all about you.. I think this quilt is so cute and looks really easy to make...

The Senior Olympics is where this quilt was this weekend. My sister made it and I quilted it for her. It was raffled off at the Senior Olympics. I'm still waiting to hear how much it went for.

Don't you just love polka dots for quilt backs, I do... cute little baby girl quilt.
And another really pretty quilt.. I can't remember the name of this but something to do with cathedral windows.
I got a couple of stitcheries done this weekend and worked on a few others, cleaned my quilting room which was way over due for a good cleaning, now I don't want to go in there and mess it up, but it's what I do :)

I'm so happy... hubby will finally be home tonight after being gone for the last 5 days in Chicago. It just isn't the same without him home.. Geez I had to cook for myself, take out the trash and let the dog in and out.....lol... really I think I had cereal for dinner almost every night, anyway not a lot of cooking going on here when he's gone... I did bake cookies on Saturday morning and ended up eating way to many of them yesterday and today... yummy oatmeal chocolate chip walnut cookies.

Ok enough of all that, lets see some quilts... this duck quilt is one of my favorites. I really like the pattern with the flying ducks, goes well together I think.

Well for some reason I am not able to upload more than 4 photos right now... so anyway just sharing some of the quilts I've quilted in the last couple of weeks. These took forever to upload and last night I uploaded photos on my grand kids blog and it was faster than it has ever been... who knows maybe it's just me doing something wrong on here.

The wizard of oz stocking

One of my quilt ladies came over the other day to show me the stockings she makes... Isn't is so cute. All that detail work with sequins and beads has to take a long time to do.. As you can see this one is The Wizard of Oz but she makes all kinds of cute ones. There are a lot of itty bitty pieces on these, I think I would be blind after making just one. Today is our 9 th anniversary.... hubby surprised me with a beautiful diamond bracelet and a lovely card. I love him so much, he is such a good husband and all around great guy. I think I'll keep him around a good while :)

GO cutter and quilts

While on vacation last month this is what I purchased. I haven't really had a chance to use it till this week.... I have the circle die so I used it to make my first GO quilt. I wasn't really sure what I was going to do, I just started cutting out circles to kind of see how it all works. I had this piece of white on white fabric so I sprinkled the circles on it and sewed them on.. It looked kind of plain so I added the purple strips on it then quilted circles on it.. I think I will name it Sprinkled circles, what do you think, a good name?
Anyway this little thing really is fun to use and you can cut out a whole quilt in no time at all.
Oh I haven't sewn down the back of the binding yet so that's why it looks wonky along the edges. I just couldn't wait any longer to show it off and talk about the GO cutter.

This one I started last night and this is how far I am on it now... It was hard doing customer quilts today and not playing with the GO or not finishing this. All I need to do is trim it up and add the borders.. I have a green stripped fabric just like the blue so I will use that for a small border then I have a coordinating cupcake fabric I will use for a bigger outside border. I can't wait to get back to it. Oh and see the little scrappy circle quilt hanging over there on the side, my little granddaughter Rylee made that one this weekend, she will be over next week to quilt it, her first time on the long arm... she loves the GO cutter too... she can't wait to start her next quilt now.

My Friend Katie in Texas sent me this apron but I'm afraid to use it. It's so cute I'm afraid I will get it dirty so it's hanging in my quilting room on the door. Love the pink and the butterflies on it. Thanks again Katie, you are so sweet. Oh she makes some cute cupcakes too.

Rylee modeling it for me, we had to pull it up and tie it so it would fit her. She would have no problem wearing it and getting it dirty...lol... I need to make her a new apron soon.

Ok here is my scrap quilt with what seems like a million little tiny pieces in it....I am thinking about no border... what do you all think border yes or border no?
chimichanga from the Pioneer Woman.. They turned our really good. Last week I also made some fried cheese sticks...they were Delicious, I used string cheese and pepper jack cheese... very tasty and fun.... it's like a party in your mouth :) if you get a chance go to her web site, she has some really good recipes there.... and she's funny too. I saw her on the view and she just seems so down to earth and nice.

Last week my daughter Amy came over to have her first lesson in make gum paste flowers... and these are the results... she did very well.. she made them for her little nieces birthday.

Baby bibs

Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend.... Yesterday and today I made bibs for Molly Jean... I got them all done today except for the snaps which I will attach tomorrow and then get them shipped on Tuesday...Wendy said she needed some with purple.. the last batch I made her didn't have any purple ones in it so she will have plenty now... looking through my stash I found some really cute purple snow man fabric, not sure if I want to use it to make her a pillow case or more bibs...it's really cute fabric though...sure you will see it sometime soon...

I got all my scrappy blocks sewn together yesterday too, now I need to decide if I want to put on a border or leave it like it is.. I think it would look good either way...I will post it later...

Have you heard about or seen the "Cat in the Hat" fabric that will be out soon or maybe it's already out... I know Robin over at To Quilt n Sew will be getting some in soon... I will be paying her a visit for sure.. it's so cute.. wouldn't it be cute to make a pillow case and give a Cat in the Hat book along with it? What a nice little gift for grand kids or nieces and nephews.

I'm back and here's the reason for my blog break.

These are our grand children, the 2 youngest ones are from Florida and were here for 2 weeks. One of the 2 weeks they were all ours while their mommy and daddy took a well deserved vacation to Maui.
We had the best time ever getting to have them here for the week.. let me tell you it's hard having a 7 month and 4 year old 24/7 for a week but I would do it all over again tomorrow in a heart beat.

Grandmas hold our tiny hands for just a little while, but our hearts forever.

Only 5 more days till I get to go see these two grand babies... look at Molly Jean, I don't think she could have a bigger smile than that... she's such a little cutie..

Finished all the blocks for my scrappy quilt.. this picture show a few missing but I did get them done last night... now hopefully soon I can get all the blocks sewn together, they may have to wait till I get back from Denver.. I have lots to do this week to get ready. This quilt was fun to make and yep I cut out way to many pieces so I had to start another scrappy quilt with them..
This is the new scrappy I started last night with the left overs. I won't make it as big as the other one. That first one has 1008 pieces of fabric... that was a lot of 2x31/2 pieces to cut...

Suzy Zoo is the most adorable fabric. It's hard to find and I do have some that I must have gotten from ebay a few years ago. These 2 little ones are so cute, she is making them for her first grand baby. ... how fun.

Gosh it's so hot and muggy here today... I couldn't wait for summer to get here, now I can't wait for fall.

Today was a busy day.... but it doesn't really seem like I got much done. I had customers in and out a few times today and JC Penney here repairing the rod on the new drapes they installed a couple of weeks ago... it's so nice to have new drapes. For the pink room hubby made a cornice window box and I will quilt some fabric to cover it and make some side curtain. That will all have to wait till after summer though.... hope it turns out pretty.. I have never made curtains...so we will see..

A few more customer quilts to share. I can't remember the name of this one but it seems like wash day or something like that, doesn't matter it's just adorable.

Here I was just trying out a new app from my iphone. It takes black and white photo's and they are suppose to look vintage... what do you think.. I guess it all depends on what you are taking a picture of.... both of these are from shelves in my quilting room... see that Better Homes and Garden sewing book... my Grandma gave it to me years ago.... the very first quilt I ever made was one that she helped me with.. it was a little car quilt for my son...

scrappy all done...

Here's the scrappy one all done waiting to be picked up... I love this quilt. She chose a meander/stipple pattern for it using china blue thread. The back of the quilt has the cutest polka dot fabric.. I'm going to have to find out where she purchased that one.
I worked on my scrappy one a bit yesterday and last night in between sneezing and itching. This is a bad time of the year for me with allergies..... and it's so dang hot here right now so that doesn't really help either.
The other day my little grand daughter Rylee was here and wanted to sew a pillow..... one with decorative stitches, you can't really see the stitches in the picture but they are all around the edge of the pillow on the white fabric... she chose a different stitch for each edge. She is such a silly and fun little thing to have around...

A couple of the pillow cases I made for my grand children.. they love them....

I love the sausage way of making pillow cases, so much nicer and easier to make....now I will want to make one to match and store every quilt in :)

Scraps, scraps, scraps... I know I have said this lots of time but scrappy quilts are my most favorite.... This quilt belongs to a friend...

I'm going to have to make one for sure.... have I already started one.... yep.. I couldn't wait... I already had a bunch of 2 x 3 1/2 pieces cut out from who knows what but I have had them for a while.. so I had a head start on it...I cut out a bunch more and made 6 blocks last night and 6 more this morning.... so it's coming along pretty fast but for now I have to get to the quilting room and work on customer quilts... as soon as I'm done quilting this one I will post a picture of it.....I love looking at all the different fabrics in this quilt, some I recognize that I gave her....

Awe, this is the life... how sweet is this? My little grand baby Molly Jean. Relaxing in the pool she fell asleep. She is so cute, she's a little thumb sucker baby. If you take her thumb out of her mouth she right away puts the other one in. I can't wait to see her in 3 weeks.

I'm not sure yet what I want to do with this fabric. I bought it awhile back but haven't decided yet the quilt pattern I want to use with it yet....

any ideas???
Here are a few more of the beach bags I made.. don't forget you can go on over to "To Quilt n Sew" for the pattern and while your there pick out some really cute fabric for it.... you can also get the screen in many different colors. Very easy and fun bag to make, everyone that I've made one for loves it...

Just a quick post today in between cleaning house.. I wanted to work out in the yard today but it's so darn hot and muggy out that I knew I would last long enough to get anything done.

It's hard to find the time to get on here to post and visit other blogs as often as I want to.... but I am here now for a few minutes with some eye candy to share..... this is the quilt from the previous post, all quilted and looking pretty... I love this quilt.. it was one of those I didn't want to call and tell her it was ready...

Over the holiday weekend I got into making pillow cases.. seems like everyone was making them awhile back but I never did get into it until now.... guess I am a little slow... they were fun to make using the sausage method.... I made all my grand children one too.. I will try and post them at a later date...

How cute are these little hair clips, I made these two for my grand daughter Rylee.. she loves crafty stuff and makes her own hair bows.. I will have to post a few she has made... she makes some cute ones... If you want to make this one go on over to Polka Dot Pineapple blog, she has a tutorial for it...... quick, easy and fun to make... she uses bobby pins but I used clips because that's what Rylee uses in her hair.... and they worked out just fine....Oh Barb over at Bejeweled Quilts made some really cute ones too....

Hopefully everything is back to normal here.. oh wait, were we ever normal?
We lost my 97 year old grandpa last week so I haven't been on here much or gotten much of anything done really... He lived a good long life and was ready to go be with grandma again. I already miss him a lot...

On to the quilts now, yesterday my little granddaughter called and wanted to come over, I told her sure but I still have to work on quilting for a while... when she got here she said she was happy because she finally gets to work with me in the quilting room.... I put her to work unwinding bobbins that didn't have enough thread left on them to use... we decided that this is her summer job and she gets 25 cents for every bobbins she unwinds... she made 5.50 and was so excited about it... oh yeah she is saving for an iphone... lol she is only 7 and already wanting an iphone....

The first quilt here is what's on the machine now.. it's very cheery and bright, perfect summer time quilt I think...You can't really see the pattern I'm doing on it but I will post a picture when it's all done...

This is a nice big quilt too, it from the book "Block Explosion" I love that book... I think she made this one for a wedding gift...

This customer quilt is called Diamond Dust..... very pretty and I really like the border on it...

This one I can't remember if I have posted it before or not but I found it in the photo file but don't remember posting it.. so anyway here it is, it's the X block pattern... it really is a bright pink but doesn't appear to be here...very cut quilt and cute border which doesn't really show here except very little in the bottom right corner.. I need to take better pictures I guess...

Yesterday was 106 here... today is suppose to be a couple degrees cooler but still sweltering hot.. I have to get out and run errands but going to try and get out early before it gets to hot...

Just wanted you all to know I am still here.... My grandpa passed away Tuesday morning, the funeral was yesterday.. He was 97 years old, lived a good long life and will be missed by all...

I've been trying to get on here and post for the last few days..the one day it was so slow I couldn't really do anything and the other days I was just to busy to get to it... but here I am now.. Hope everyone is have a good weekend so far.

We had Rylee and Rett here all day Friday and had a fun day with them... Have you ever played with the 3D chalk? It's pretty fun and you can really get creative with it...
Rylee and Rett sporting their 3D glasses.This pink flower fabric I picked up a few years ago while traveling... I can't remember now exactly where I got it but I am think in AZ... anyway I never could find any fabric to go with it.. it's kind of a different tone of pink... so recently I took it with me to "To Quilt n Sew" and Dyna helped me find the pink for the border... looks like it was made to go with it, a very good match. Thanks Dyna....

Here is a close up of the quilting... This is one of those new patterns I got last week... very pretty and I really like it....

The brown polka dot minkie on the back looks so pretty quilted.
Just a quick little wall hanging I made the other day.... those little blocks are only about 5 inches. Those are some small monkey wrenches...not sure yet what to quilt on it....

Miss Rylee and her Tutu she made... and quilts

My little grand daughter Rylee.. she is so creative and crafty... today she made this cute little tutu all by herself. I may have to commission her to make a purple one for Molly....

If you look really close at Rylee you can see that she lost her first tooth, well really she lost 2 in the same week and made a good bundle from the tooth fairy...

This is her art project she did at school this year... as you can see she got a first place blue ribbon on it. The way I understood it is that her school could only pick 2 art pieces from each grade to enter into an art show and hers was one of them...I think she did very well for a 7 year old... Very nice Rylee, I am so proud of you girl...
This cute little Wonky Scrappy Log Cabin baby quilt is what I worked on over the weekend and finished it up this morning.....I have a new panto that I'm going to do on it... I'll post a picture to after I quilt it. This was fun to do but the border took longer to do than the blocks... it was so fun and easy I started another one using brown scraps...

Pretty and Ugly...

Here's the ugly first... This is what I found while working in the flower bed today... yesterday Dennis power washed some tables and chairs and stuff on the patio so I'm thinking that's where it came from because I don't think black widows are usually in flower beds, I think they like to hide under stuff... that's what I'm telling myself so I will still work in the yard...lol

Of course Dennis had to play around with it for awhile... just squish is already....

And now for the pretty.. these are a few roses we planted in the spring.. they are blooming so pretty...

Always remember to stop and smell the roses...

Here it is... I finished the quilting Saturday morning then ran to the quilt shop for fabric for the binding, came home made it and sewed it on, now I just have to hand sew it to the back and make a label.
I think this is one of my favorite quilts I've made....

A few things that make a long arm quilter happy... New patterns and new thread.... Love the scrumptious pink color.....don't you? These are just a few of the new threads and my favorites in the order....

See the pattern laying flat there.. that's the one I am using on my quilt in the picture below.... I'm just about done with it, I was hoping to finish it tonight but I just couldn't do anymore.... so first thing in the morning I'll get it done.....

Sorry the picture is so dark... I need a new camera :)

I am so happy to be finally doing this quilt.. I kept pushing it to the back of the line... now I wish I would have done it sooner... oh well I will be happy when it's done even though I don't have the bed anymore that I had originally made it for...

Anyone remember this quilt?

I think I posted this quilt awhile back but I can't remember for sure, anyway I made it a few years ago, it's my first hand applique work..the flowers are appliqued. I used all 30's repo fabric on it. So I dug it out of the closet last night and got it all pressed, got the backing ready for it and it's my project for this weekend.. I may be able to start on it today.... Yesterday the brown man brought me a few new panto patterns so I will probably chose one of those for it....
and now for a few customer quilts... this first one the lady started it years ago for her grand daughters wedding and just now finished it.. I think we all have quilts like that... I know I do... Beautiful quilt Sharon...

How pretty is this... I do believe it was hanging up at "To Quilt n Sew" for awhile.

How about this one.. I think it's called Chimney Stones... not for sure now though.. anyway a very nice quilt.....this lady stole it out of her moms closet and brought it to me to quilt for a surprise for her moms birthday.. how wonderful is that... The mom never knew it was missing.

This next one is her first quilt ever.. she did really good on it... love those colors...

Oh Betty, you will probably like this one a lot since you love the X block ... I really like the borders on this one...

She used Cuddles for the backing, which you can get from "To quilt n Sew" Robin has quite a few there to chose from.... very soft like minkie but without so much stretch...

No monkey business going on here, it's baby bib business....These are so fun and easy to make. I wish I had more of this monkey fabric but only had enough to make one bib.

This little set I made for my daughter to give at a baby shower... the girl loved them and now has a bouncing baby boy....
Oh yeah terry cloth works well for the backing fabric too... That reminds me I need to go get more terry cloth.
And a few more.. what a better way to use up scrap fabric and you always have a nice little gift for that new little bundle of joy....

Ok and now on to a few customer quilts.

Sure you all recognize this one as a Thimble berry quilt, only she did the borders a little different.. Still looks very pretty. She always does very nice work.

I wish I had a better picture of this one .. It's all done in counted cross stitch... so so cute.

This one may look familiar.. I did one almost just like it a few weeks ago... this one is for her other little boy.... I did dwirlling on it and it looks so cute... those little boys are going to be so happy about their new Dino quilts..

My friend Helen is so thoughtful and love making quilts for Linus.. this is the latest one she made.. also did some dwirlling on it...

Tuesday I went for a mamo...it didn't look good... yesterday they called and said there are changes from the last one so today I go for an ultra sound... wish me luck.

Love these little snap wallets.. I made two of them... This one I use for my business cards. Wouldn't they be a perfect gift with a gift card stuffed inside, a gift card from a quilt or fabric shop of course...

Erin here are the magazines you were asking me about... The first one is the one with the little bib pattern in it.. I made them a little different than they did but it's the same pattern....

And as you can see the turtle pattern here... love both of these magazines...

Today seems like Monday.... all day yesterday I kept thinking it was Sunday... I think I'll be off and confused all week.

Hope you all had a good weekend. We got the bathroom all done and now I just need to go shop for some new towels and pretties to decorate it with.

I had terrible allergies all weekend but feeling much better now.. I did get a customer quilt done yesterday.. a very cute tulip quilt.... lets see if I took a picture of it yet... Ok no I didn't but in the next day or so I will post it....

This is the latest scrap quilt I made... love making the strip scrap quilts.... easy mindless sewing and fun....

Hope your all having a good holiday weekend so far... Yesterday we finished up painting the bathroom and today we will put the hardware and stuff back in and clean it all up... I am ready for BBQ chicken today.. Hubby makes some good chicken...

This first quilt is one that I made for our niece, she is having a baby and due any day now... I did some dwirlling on it and made 2 little matching bibs for her... I hope she loves them, how can she not huh? They are adorable...

Not a very good picture but this is a little quilt I just quilted freehand.. what do you think? You can see the pattern better on the next picture which is the back..

Gotta love those scrappy quilts.. my favorites....
This quilt was made by one of my Male clients... it's all paper pieced.. he does nice work.... for a man.. haha just kidding.. he really does so nice work....

Oh my goodness look how big Miss Molly Jean is and how much she has grown since my last post... I can't wait to see her next month...I have a few pictures to share on this post but I just had to show Molly Jean first....

Who ever thought baby bibs would be addicting? I can't stop making them :) These two are for Molly Jean.... they are adorable and reversible... Molly's mama is going to love em too....

Could these two be any cuter? I made them for my friend Helen's grand baby, Rachael... oh yeah she is as adorable as Molly Jean too... Can you tell I love babies...

Here are a couple of the beach bags I made, really I made 6 of them and gave them all away to family and friends... these are fun and easy to make... it's one of those things kind of like the bibs, you can't make just one.... you can get the pattern and the pet screen at "To Quilt n Sew" http://www.toquiltnsew.com/ ( stop on by there and say Hi to Robin and the other girls.. they are very helpful and always willing to help) she has several colors of the pet screen... a really pretty green I think I'm going to have to have and there will be a pink coming out soon and of course you know I have to have that one.... oh and there is also a cute little zip bag pattern that is really easy and it also uses the pet screen.. I have a picture of one... I will post at a later date... it makes a really cute set if you make them both... my little grand daughter uses hers as a book bag and loves it....
Ok one last photo.. this is turning out to be a longer post than I intended it to be.. but these are so cute I wanted to share them too... A little spray starch cozy.. how cute are these.... and for those ladies that go for the classes you will always know which one is yours... here are a few I made... again you can't make just one... am I the only one that does that? I can't just make one of anything....

mama ducks and her babies... and some quilts

I was going to add Molly Jean's picture at the very end of this post but then I decided she is so cute she has to be first.. look how much she had grown...she is growing to fast....

This weekend as absolutely beautiful, nice spring weather....We planted more flowers in the back yard and few more in the front... they look very pretty. Now tomorrow is suppose to be cold and maybe rain. I good day to hopefully get a lot of quilt done... today went be way to fast .. I did get a quilt pinned on the gammill and started before my dentist appointment.... after I left there I went by the grocery store then got a call that my grands are in my front yard waiting for me to get home... loved seeing then come running to the drive way to meet me.. their such Little cuties...They didn't to stay to long but long enough to love up on.

Yesterday hubby was out front doing some yard work when all at once the front door flew open and he yelled for me come here quick.. of course I thought something bad had happened... no not bad at all.... it was the cutest thing I've seen in a long time ... a mama duck and 8 of her babies walking across our drive way, across our yard, over to the neighbor yard... they were looking for their was back to the golf course lake behind our house.... well when I ran out the front door to see what hubby was yelling for me to see I just left the door wide open.... so now here we are trying to corral the ducks back to the side gate to get to the back yard and down into the lake... well they decide to go across the front porch where the door was standing wide open... I'm freaking out at this point, i know as cute as they are and everything, I don't want them running through my house.... so they are at the door getting ready to step in when Roxy, our little dog who is in there sleeping with a nice view of the front door. She sees them and run for them.. the poor little duck were so scared.. We hollered at Roxy and she stopped and went back in, she is a good dog.... any way after getting them off the porch ...of course the garage door is open and they go to that door which is closed...they his behind a ladder in the corner... we finally got them out of they and kind of herded them towards the gate to the back yard. They we right under the fence and into the water.. now here's the not so fun part... as soon as mama got into the lake with her babies, 3 mallards flew over and started attacking her.... they were holding this poor mama by the neck and hold her head in the water... it was terrible to watch.... I kept telling Dennis they are going to kill her.. this went on for a good 2 minutes, finally Dennis got the lock opened and went down to try and break them up... after he got a little bit close to them the mallards swam away... it was just terrible.. I didn't know ducks were so mean... They fought her and picked on her all day... Today I don't see them out there at all.... Hope mama and her babies are all ok.

Oh and Betty, be careful the skunks are back again this year. They got the cat next door one night last week.

My friend Helen made these first two quilts... she always make beautiful quilt and is very talented and also a grandma.... her little Rachael is so so cute....... this little house/heart quilt is cute but the one after it is one of my favorites that she has made.

This next quilt was made by Sandy.. another very talented quilt make.... she has a new grand baby on the way so this cute little pink quilt is for her.... the first picture is the back of the quilt made with minkie.. gotta love the soft minkie..
The front of the quilt... I did some freehand dwirlling on it and it turned out really cute, Sandy loves it.

Oh and this is another one that Helen made... very pretty.. I quilted ribbon and roses on it....
