Pink Saturday 9/18/2009

I hope you all had a good week and are enjoying your Pink Saturday so far...

First of I want to thank Beverly over at "How Sweet The Sound" for hosting such a sweet pink day for all us. Go on over and say hi to her and see the links to all the other Pink Saturday posts. Just click here to get there.http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/

Also Beverly has challenged us to visit a blog we visited the week before and post it this week, so I would like to share with you the blog by Bunny at http://creativehare.blogspot.com/

She makes lots of cute stuff, I love the little scrappy journal covers she makes. Go on over and visit her blog, she's a very nice lady.

Last week one of my very good on line friends, Molly, sent me a surprise package in the mail. This is my first time ever getting a gift from an on line blogger friend so I was thrilled.

Isn't this the cutest thing ever, can you tell what it's made from.... A bra, yes a bra.... isn't that the cutest thing ever.

Molly also sent along this beautiful fabric.. I love it, it's so dainty, pretty and pink. I'm not sure yet what I will make with it. It will probably be a small lap quilt. I just hate to cute the fabric though, it has such a pretty pattern on it. Thank you again Molly, you are a doll. Here is the link to Molly's blog if you would like to visit her, she would love you to stop by.... and tell her I said Hi.

And now for some Pink cupcakes. This first one is a cupcake cupcake. The cupcake on top I made from gum paste. You can't see it very well but on the icing there is pink eatable glitter, too cute!

One of my favorite cupcakes, a pink rose.

This one is cute for a baby girl baby shower. What mama or baby wouldn't love that.

Another pink CC. And another. Can you tell I like Pink?

Cute for a baby shower too.

This one I was playing around with dipping cupcakes in melted fondant, it actually worked out really well. You get a really nice smooth coverage doing it that way. Then I piped some royal icing on in a little meander style pattern and made a little GP flower for the top.

Ok enough cupcakes for now. These are the quilt blocks I'm working on. Not a good picture but you can see what they are ok... I don't think I am going to put a sashing in between each one, I've seen them done both ways and I like without the sashing better. I still have about quite a few more to make. I think I have 6 almost finished, I still need to sew the circle on them, then I can start on more, not sure how big I want the quilt. I will decide as I'm going along. The blocks are 18 1/2 square so they are pretty big. I love scrappy quilts!

Oh wow I didn't realize I had uploaded so many pictures this time.
I hope this post isn't to long and boring for anyone.
This next picture I would like to share is this cute little tea set I picked up a few months ago and the local second hand shop.

Very pretty little dainty flowers on it.

Gum paste roses. I love making these. I didn't have a recent pink quilt to show so I got my CD's out and found one of my favorite customer quilts to show from a few years ago. Very pretty and pink, don't you think?

This is my daughter in law, Denay on the right and her friend Shannon.
They are racing Denay's dune buggy in a race for a cure for breast cancer.
Here is the link if you are interested in powder puff racing.

Good luck on their race and a cure for breast cancer.

Thanks for visitng and have a wonderful pink weekend.

Thursday 9/17/09 quilts and cupcakes

It seems like I can't hardly find the extra time to post on my blog as often as I use to but, I am here now catching up a little bit. I have customer quilts and cupcakes to show you today.
The first is one of my rose cupcakes. It looks more red here but it isn't really all that red.

A cute little baby cupcake with the letter M for Molly... I think I could just make cupcakes all day and be happy with it...
This one is covered with fondant rolled with a decorative rolling pin.. how cute is that....
Fondant with a gum paste flower and a pearl in the middle, also too cute.
Oh my goodness this is the best orange cake. I told my hubby this one is too dangerous because I could eat it all day and not think twice about it. Too yummy!
and a few more GP roses to share.
Oh a cute little baby shower ducky cupcake.
Wow, these picture are not in the order I wanted them but at least they are here.
Poker anyone? This one has all poker fabric in it, she made it for her brother in law that loves poker.

This quilt was made by left over blocks from other quilts, she did good putting them all together to look good.
I love this carpenters star quilt and the fabric she used is beautiful.

Who doesn't love Halloween quilts? This one is so darn cute!

So sorry the pictures aren't very clear...
Hope you enjoyed looking and are having a good week, see you soon for Pink Saturday.

Pink Saturday 9/12/2009

Happy Pink Saturday

This week I've made tons of roses. Here are a few to show you, not a very good pictures. I don't think I will ever learn the new camera.
These are so fun to make and very addicting.

This week while out and about I stopped at the Discovery Shop. It's a thrift shop where all the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. This is what I found there. Again not a very good picture but oh so cute they are.

A close up of each one. They way I am making cakes and cupcakes now I just had to have them.

A few weeks ago I played around designing some cookies. I liked these pink hearts and they were yummy.

Don't forget to go on over to How sweet the Sounds to visit Beverly and get the other pink links.

Pink Saturday 9/4/2009

Today is Pink Saturday, enjoy visiting and go on over to Beverly's blog at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ to see the other pink blogs participating, thanks Beverly.

Today I'm sharing a few baked goodies and a customer quilt.

This cake was so yummy, it's a banana cake with vanilla/almond butter cream icing. I decorated the top with gum paste flowers I made and also used little pearls around the top and bottom side. This was a fun cake to make.

Here after we cut the first piece. I sent half of the cake home with my sister. If it was here I would have ended up eating the whole thing......

A close up of the flowers on top.

Last week I played around making a few cupcakes.

I really like these little baby shower cupcakes. Also fun to make.

Not a good picture but this is my favorite baby shower cupcake.

Last but not least a pink customer quilt. This is the cutest fabric. She got it at Joann's, she said it is a new line they are now carrying. I don't know what it's called or who makes it but it's cute.

Here is the back of the quilt. Too cute Jeanette!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting, have a wonderful Pink Saturday.
