Just Quilts Today

Hope you are all having a good week so far. Today I feel lazy and tired and just want to have a lazy day but I can't, I have a lot of quilting to do and also need to run to the store for a few around the house things.

It seems like a long time since I have posted just quilts on here so here we go just quilts on this post. Enjoy!

This first one is a Linus quilt that my friend brought over to be quilted, there is also another Linus one but I can't find the picture, I must have dropped it in the wrong folder and will have to search for it later. This one is cute, it looks like maybe kids colored the blocks.

This is the one that was featured on last Wednesday's what's on the machine Wednesday. Very nice scrappy star quilt.
Another very nice scrap quilt.
This star quilt is one that my sister made. She's going to enter is into the county fair next month. It looks much prettier in person, I will let you know if she wins a ribbon. I love the pattern I did on it. It's a new pattern to me and I can't wait to make a quilt myself to use it on.

This quilt is pretty too but as you can see I still can't work the new camera very well. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. This isn't even really the color of this quilt, it's a really pretty sea weed kind of green. Oh well some day I may get it right.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day :)

Orange rose cake for Amy

For the past 2 weeks I have been teaching myself how to make gum paste flowers. A few weeks ago I learned how to make fondant so I had to learn how to make flowers with gum paste. This is my first stacked cake, it's just a small one but I think it turned out nice for being my first cake.
My youngest daughter Amy is having a birthday next month but she live in Co. so I will just send her a picture of it. Orange is her favorite color.... Anyway I don't think I could cut this one and eat it since it's my first one, lol, I know that sounds silly but I am very proud of it. Can you tell?
So Happy Birthday to Amy Lucy Poo! I love you!

I can't wait to make my next cake, humm maybe it will be pink :)

Pink Saturday 8/22/2009

These pink Saturdays seem to being rolling around a lot faster now days... it seems like we just had one a few days ago, but that's ok we all like them.
Thank you to Beverly for hosting this for all of our enjoyment. Be sure and go on over and say Hi to her... just click on the Pink Saturday blinkie I've only had one pink quilt in the last few weeks and here it is. It's really pretty. I'm not sure what the pattern is but I do know it's out of a new stack and whack book that just recently came out. Very pretty.
Here are a couple of pictures of some of the gum paste flowers I made this week. Hubby was playing around with the camera and took these for me.

A pink cupcake bath bomb, love these but don't want to use them....

This pretty little butter cream rose I made. Butter cream roses are a lot harder to make than gum paste ones, but still pretty.

Just a few pictures from the pink room.
I thought this was a pretty picture to post here.
And last but not least a ride at Disney land, I think it was in the Bugs Life part of the park... Who wouldn't love a giant pink cup cake........Oh and there was a giant watermelon slice that your little car drove through and it misted you with watermelon fragrance water.. it was too cool. I wanted to go on it again just for that.... lol... we had a good time there with Tyler and Wendy.
You all have a Happy Pink Saturday and stay safe :)

What's on the machine Wednesday

It's "What's on the machine Wednesday" and as you can see I still don't have the camera figured out to well. I think I should have changed the lens and now hubby took the camera with him today so I can't try it again. Anyway this is a scrappy star quilt, very cute quilt. I will take another picture when it's done and the camera is back here tonight. Hope you all have a great day. ~Hugs~

Pink Saturday 8/15/2009

Happy pink Saturday, hope you are all having a good weekend.
I feel like I'm still recovering from Wendy and Tyler's visit but I have been busy playing catch up on quilts so I think that's what it is.
Don't forget to go over here to Beverly's to see the rest of the pink blog ladies. I'm sure there is some cute pink stuff out there that you don't want to miss out on seeing.
This week I received two gifts. This first one is from a customer/friend. She makes some of the cutest quilts too. Isn't this too sweet and it goes great in my pink room. Look at all those perfect little stitches, thank you Fran... I love it.

Look at these yummy little cupcakes. My friend Helen gave me these little scrapbook cupcakes, cupcake earrings and a ME journal which I didn't get a picture of.
The cutest little earrings.... Thank you Helen... you are a sweetie...
In between catching up on quilting, no not really... at night after quilting I have been teaching myself how to make gum paste roses... here is what I have done so far. They are so fun to make and like quilting they are addicting.
This is the first one I made.
A few other flowers I have been playing around with also.

Don't ya just love pink roses? Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to go visit the other pink blogs. Have a blessed day.

It's what's on the machine Wednesday

It's what's on the machine Wednesday.....
but guess what? My camera is broke and not fixable, so no quilt pictures today. I can tell you the quilt on the machine right now is a stack n whack, very pretty and fall like colors. Sorry you have to just use your imagination on this one but it will be on here soon.

So hubby bought a new one...... a new fancy one that this girl hasn't learned how to use yet, you know it's one of those with all the bells and whistles. He took some cute pictures of Tyler while he was here visiting so I though I would share those with you and I promise this weekend when I have more time to learn the camera I will and have quilt pictures again. So let me know what you think about the quality of these pictures. I can't wait to learn how to use it for my quilts and pink Saturday posts.
These pictures were taken in our front yard, Tyler was doing well posing for the camera. We got a lot of really cute pictures of him.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Did anyone miss me?

Here's why I haven't posted in the last week or so. Our daughter and grandson were here for a visit from Texas. We had such a good time. We picked them up from LAX, that place is like a zoo.
Then the next day we went to Disneyland, the next day to California Adventure, the next day the beach. We had a wonderful at tall three. Tyler had never been to the beach so he really loved that but he is too brave, he isn't afraid of anything, he didn't care that the big waves knocked him over and under water. Of course grandma was scared to death, lol......
He also turned 3 while he was here so we had a spider man birthday party for him.
Now that all the grand kid fun and play is over it's time to get back to quilting and play catch up.
Hope you all had a good week. You know I sure did. Love those grand babies!
