A proud Grandma

For the last few days I have been receiving email instead of comments saying they can't seem to post a comment on any of my posts. Hopefully it is all working now. I don't know what else to do to it. I've changed some of the settings so hopefully that was the issue and it's ok now.
I am so proud of her. This is her first year at competition cheer leading. They've had 3 state competitions so far and won all three. She really is good at it and I'm not just saying that because I'm the Grandma, lol... she does all these flip, hand stands and all kinds of stuff that you would think for sure she is going to just break in half.

Tiny bag tutorial

I edited the last post and added the link for the tiny bag if anyone wants to make one. They are so fun, fast and easy. Can anyone tell me how to make a link with just the name of the blog. The way I do it now is copy and post from the address bar. This is how it looks like when I do it, but I want it to just say the name of the blog. HELP
I would appreciate any help I can get for this.... thank you and enjoy making the Tiny Bag, I did. Thank you Littlebusybee!
Thank you Amy for the help. That really was way to easy.... I couldn't get it to work for littlebusybee but it worked for your blog...

tiny little bag and a lunch bag.

This was so fun and easy to make. Oh and so tiny. I took the pictures with my pin cushion next to it so you can get the idea of how tiny it is. Wouldn't it be too cute made out of Easter fabric and fill with little Easter goodies? I think I will make one to go with my Easter table decor. I'll have to find the perfect Easter fabric first.
Here is the link to the tutorial for this cute tiny bag. She has a really cute blog.
This bag is I think called a lunch bag, not sure on that. Fun and easy to make also. I can't remember where I got the pattern from now. I know it was a free one on the Internet, it came in my email, I saved it and now this morning I can't find it. I will run across it again I'm sure.

Here is the quilt I'm working on now. I got all the blocks done and a few rows sewn together last night. I probably won't get to it anymore now till after I get back from Florida. Does anyone know of any good fabric or quilt shops around Hollywood Florida?

Thank you for visiting my blog.
Have a great day.

Quilts and a long time friend

I can't believe after all these years I found a good friend, Glenda, from 7th grade that I had been looking for for so long. After she moved away, we kept in contact by mail for a few years then I think I moved and we lost contact. After playing around on face book I found her. She was just as excited as I was. She had been looking for me too. With both of us having different last names now made the search a little hard. Anyway after finding her we chatted on line for a while then figured it would be easier on the phone so she called and we talked for a good hour and a half catching up on the lost years. Boy how things change and families grow. It was a good chat and now we both will be sure to keep up with each other. Hopefully we will be able to meet up some day.

Now on to the quilts, I just had to share that with you. It was pretty exciting and I still can't believe I am talking to her after all these years.

I had more pictures to upload but it was taking forever, not sure if it's blogger or my isp. So you you just get these this morning. The first one is so cute. A lot of the ladies are making this one, the LQS is having a class on it. Too too cute.

This is my favorite block but I love the whole quilt and Jeanette you did good on it.

This little duck quilt is adorable. It's going to make some little baby happy and warm. There is just something about little duck quilts that I love. I will have to post the one I made years ago and got first place for at the San Benito County Fair.

Pink Saturday

It's Pink Saturday today.

Thank you Beverly for hosting our pretty pink days.

Don't forget to look at my side bar and click on the pink lady to go to "How Sweet the Sound" and there you will find links to the other Pink Saturday blogs. Lots of pretty stuff out there to see and read about.

My first pink today is a small rag rose quilt I made a few years ago. To fun to make and it looks so cute hanging here. Sorry for the blurry picture.

I love this quilt..... a customer made this one. I have the book and every time I quilt one like this I say I am going to make one. So today I went to get my book because of course I knew exactly where it was, but guess what it wasn't there. Now I have to locate where I put it. I know it's here somewhere. I will find it sooner or later.

My dear sweet friend Helen made this cute little lingerie bag for me and filled it with these yummy cupcake goodies. Love those giant clips too.
Thank you Helen

I know this picture is upside down..... but it wasn't when I uploaded it. I don't what happens to them during uploading. I tried it 3 times and this is how it turned out each time.

customer quilts

A french Braid Quilt, isn't it pretty.

Again another one that I wish was mine.

This is one beautiful quilt. The picture does not do it justice. Some of the fabrics have little bits of gold in them and the placement of the fabrics in it really makes it looks so nice. She did some really nice work she always does.

I believe this one is an underground railroad quilt. It's very nice and very nicely done. Gosh I have a lot of good quilt makers bringing me quilts.

Here is the back of the underground railroad. I did a panto called Mimosa.

I love this pattern.
And last but not least a Linus Quilt.

Lotsa Pops.

My friend Helen made this one and I quilted it for her for Linus. She is such a sweetie and make a lot of quilts for Linus. Oh yeah she is going to be a Grandma for the first time. Congrats Helen. Get busy on those baby quilts "Grandma".

I quilted loops all over it with variegated thread, hard to see in the picture but it really did turn out so cute. Some little one is going to love it.

Thank you for stopping by, I really do appreciate it and the comments I receive. Now I'm off to visit a few blogs before giving it up for the night. Have a great weekend.
Be good and stay safe.

Customer quilts and one of mine.

This first one was made by the owner of one of the LQS here in town. It's really pretty but hard to tell in the picture. Guess we will have to use our imagination on this one. The customer that brought this quilt is finishing it up for a friend that is very sick and probably won't live much longer. The friends grandmother made it for her a long time ago and passed away before she could finish it. The customer wanted to get it all done before her friend passes on. Hopefully she will be able to enjoy it longer than they all think.

This pink one is one I made. Just kind of scrappy pinks and rose fabric I had. I added some lace over some of the blocks and some little peepers here and there. I used minkie for the backing. Love the way it feels and it washed up really nice.

Time now to get back to quilting. I need to stay caught up and on top of things. We are going to Florida soon so I don't want to get behind on quilting.
Thanks for stopping by.

A good visit

We had such a fun time with our daughter and grandson here for a week. Tyler is such a little character and loves to show off. He is at that cute little age where he says some of the cutest things and will say anything you ask him to and repeats everything you say. We took him to the Thomas the train show here in town. He loves Thomas the train and Percy. The only thing better is his grandpa. He loves him grandpa so much, I have never seen a kid so crazy about their grandpa like he is. I love it though.

This is a picture of me, my daughter Wendy and my Grandpa. So he is Tyler's great great Grandpa.
I tried posting quilt pictures on this post but for some reason it wouldn't let me upload more on here so I will go now to make a new post of quilts. Hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday.

Customer quilts

I have had a busy week trying to catch up on customer quilts and get stuff done around the house before our daughter and grandson get her today from Texas. I'm so excited I can't hardly stand it. Tyler is so much fun and such a little show off. He is so excited about coming to play play dough with grandpa. That's all he talks about, he loves his grandpa. My daughter always says "It's all about grandpa". I love it.

Here are a few customer quilts, I didn't have the time right now to upload all of them but you can see some of what I have been doing this week. I love this first one, ME quilt, I wish it were mine...hint hint, just kidding Helen. I did think about packing it up and running away with it though.

This crazy patch quilt is really bright but doesn't really appear to be in the picture. It's really cute and huge, as you can see it hangs on the floor on this queen size bed.

Here is the part of the back, love that purple swirl fabric she used.

This next one is a cute little black and white baby quilt with minkie backing. I love the feel of minkie on the back of a quilt. I am working on a pink one right now. I'm still sewing the binding on, hopefully I can do some hand sewing while Tyler is here and get it finished. I will post it later.

I had better stop now I have a few things to do and errands to run before going to the airport.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend and stay safe.

Team Ty

My daughter Wendy has a very good friend and her son "Ty" was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma on November 5th, 2007. Wendy is the co captain of "Team Ty" We are all praying that he can get the care that he needs to fight this horrible cancer. If you can donate to Relay for Life it would be greatly appreciated or if you can just say a prayer for Ty I'm sure that will help too.
