Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday. My contribution this week are these cute little cupcake towels I found at target. They were so cute I had to have them. I don't know what's up with the picture, it was turned correctly but after I post it it's shows up sideways. I did it twice and this is how it turned out both time so I just went with it.

Also I would like to share these scrap booking pages I made a couples of years ago. This is my little granddaughter Rylee. Her favorite color is PINK too.

This picture wouldn't go straight either, I don't know what's going on I have never had that problem before. Guess I will figure it out sooner or later.

I have not been a good blogger lately, I have been so busy with quilting and everything else I just haven't had a chance to get on here and make a post. In the future I will try to do better. My daughter and grandson will be here next Saturday for a week so I won't be doing much then.

Can you believe she spent over a thousand dollars to come to CA to take Tyler to the Thomas the Train circus show? Well she did but I think she wanted to come visit anyway. Tyler is all about TTT. He loves his trains.

Don't forget to go on over to Beverly to see more pinks.

Thank you for stopping by and have a good Saturday.

Customer Quilts

Here are a few of the customer quilts I have been quilting in the last couple of weeks. Hope you all don't get tired of seeing customer quilts all the time. That's usually what I post on here. I love this cherry one. It's so cute and bright red. She made this for her granddaughter that loves cherries.

Not real sure on this one but she called it an underground railroad quilt. It's pretty cool. I really like all the different blocks in it.
sampler quilts are always fun to make. So many different block to see, love the colors she used in this one.

Scrap quilts, my favorite of all. My grandma was a scrap quilter. I think that is why I like them so much. This one is really cute with all those scrappy stars.

This little pink and green frog quilt was made by a little girl that a customer taught at her child's school. She did a good job on it for being 12 years old.

I love this quilt, I love the colors of the leaves against the white background, they just pop right out at you. This one was made for a couple that lost their home in the fires in San Diego this year.
An optical Illusion quilt.

This quilt was made by the ladies from another blog that I post at. We made it for Sam and her hubby for their wedding. Some of the ladies and one man... Gotta loves those men that make quilts.... made the blocks and I quilted it. It was sent off to Australia and arrived safely. They loved it of course.

Hope you enjoyed looking at all the beautiful quilts. Please leave a comment if you would like to and so I can find my way to your blog.
Thanks for looking.

Basket Block

I fisished my first block for the block of the month over at Bunny Hill. If you want to get in on the fun head on over there. The pattern is too cute and it's a free BOM. This block was really fun to do. I can't wait till the next one is up and ready. I kind of wish I would have used a darker pink for the stars but that's ok, I like it anyway.

Here are some cupcakes I made for a party last weekend. I love making cupcakes.

Have a wonderful day!

What I'm working on.

This is what I've been working on. They are just cute little wall hangings and so fun to do. The middle piece is appliqued using felted wool. Fun, quick and easy project. The pattern is from "Better Homes and Gardens Quilts and Gifts.

Today I plan on finishing up a customer quilt then getting started on one of the BOM that I want to do this year. Hopefully I can have a good day and get at least one done.
Have a good day.

Customer Quilts

Just thought I would share a few customer quilts.
Hope you are all having a good week. We had the fridge repaired and filled it with food again and the car fixed so everything is almost back to normal here after vacation.

This first quilt is so cute. It's for a little girl being adopted.

I think she's going to love it.

Here is the back of, not a very clear picture but it is really cute.

Don't you just love the Double wedding ring pattern. She made this as a small table runner, very pretty.

This lady found this quilt amongst her mothers belongings after she passed on. It wasn't finished yet but she did have the borders cut and ready to be sewn on. Someone has washed the quilt after piecing it so it was coming apart everywhere. I had a lot of repair work to do on it. I sewed the seams where it was coming apart, sewed the borders on. I quilted it and did the binding too since she doesn't sew or own a machine. It was fun working on it knowing how much it meant to her. She picked it up today and was so happy and thrilled with it. I was glad to be able to finish it up for her

Did you play with paper dolls as a little girl? If so then you will love this quilt. It's the cutest fabric ever. Don't you just love this X block pattern? It's so cute for these little dolls. Look at the fabric on the back of the quilt, too cute.

This is a little baby quilt. It's not a good picture but it has little cave men on it. Too cute too.
I am so lucky, I have the best bunch of quilting customers and quilting friends.
Thanks for looking and leave a comment so I can find you and visit your blog.

Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday

Welcome to Pink Saturday and thank you for visiting!

This time I want to share with you some of the tea cups and saucer I got while on our trip to TX and CO. Most of them I purchased in CO at a little antique shop just around the corner from my daughters home. They had really good prices there. I didn't pay over 4.00 each for them. Not bad huh?

The little tea pot and cup my hubby surprised me with while I was sick in bed in CO. They had the cutest little gift shop at the hotel we stayed at. The cup and saucer is from the antique shop.

Love these little pot holders. A couple of quilting friends and I went to lunch before Christmas and they both had made me Pink Cupcake pot holders but you know what they are so cute I don't want to use them and get them dirty.

This is a little thread shelf I made way back in the day when I was into wood working and painting. Sure wish I still had some of the things I made back then. I do still have a few things but nothing like what I use to have. Anyway this was fun to paint. I have it setting in my sewing room... someday after we paint in there I will try and display it better with some cute stuff in it.

The pictures turned out kind of blurry but you can still see it.

If you would like to see more pink blogs please visit Beverly over at, she is the host for Pink Saturday and has all the participating blogs listed on her site.

Thank you Beverly!

Grand Canyon

Here are a few pictures of the Grand Canyon. I still don't have the pictures from Dennis' computer but these were on my camera, so here are a few. It was so cold there at night but during the day it was bearable and nice enough to walk around without freezing. So pretty there with all the snow everywhere but I wouldn't want to live in it. I love the warm weather much better. The train ride was really fun and relaxing. I fell asleep on the way over.

Here we are before getting aboard the train.

This is just beautiful. I love this dead tree with the GC behind it.

This was the sunset on the train ride back to Williams AZ. Just absolutely beautiful.

Nice view of the river here.

I love icicles and there were some huge ones there and in CO.

And here's Tyler. This how he smiles when his mama tells him to smile really big for Grandpa. He's such a little character and is so much fun to be with. I miss him so much and wished they lived closer to us.

My youngest daughter,Amy, and her hubby. She wanted cupcakes so of course I had to make some to take to her. I bet she ate most of them too. She has a big sweet tooth. she is such a pretty little girl, love her so much. The cupcakes are really orange but here in the picture they look yellow or gold.

Here is my oldest daughter and her little one Tyler. I miss them both so much, again I wish they lived closer.

Time to get in my sewing room and get started on customer quilts. I have a baby one I have to get done today for a lady, she need it for a baby shower on the 10th. Hope she can get it the binding done and ready by then.

Thank you for stopping by. I love visiting blogs so please leave a comment so I can go visit yours. Have a great day.

We are home

Yay, we are home but we came home to a mess. We had a wonderful time in Colorado visiting out youngest daughter and her hubby. It was so cold there, snow everywhere. We stayed at a fairly new hotel, Wine Country Inn, very nice place and friendly people. Oh yeah while there we stopped at an antique shop just around the corner from where my daughter lives. I found 6 cute tea cup and saucers, I will post pictures of them at a later time.
I have tons of pictures but they are all on hubby's computer so I will have to figure out how to get them to mine. When we left CO. it was so cold and so go most of that day due to snow and ice everywhere so it took us longer to get to Texas than it should have but we finally got there and had a wonderful time with oldest daughter and her family there. Tyler was so excited to see us, he came running out to the car with open arms. Santa brought him all kinds of stuff he loved. His favorite was a choo choo train, he is all about trains right now.

When we left there we headed to the Williams AZ. stayed the night there at the Frey Marcus hotel, very nice place too. We took the train ride to the Grand Canyon the next day and took the bus tour when we got there. If you ever get a chance to take the train ride, do it, it's so much fun and beautiful scenery especially with the snow everywhere.
We got up the next morning and it was 15 degrees out, burr to cold for me. Our car was covered with ice, the water bottle in the car was frozen solid. Oh yeah and I got some beautiful pictures of ice sickles. And of course before we left there we had to find a quilt shop. They were having a sale of 30 percent off and in the travelers book there was a 10 percent off so I got to use both. I got some nice fabric and a few patterns. wish I had pictures to show but soon I will.

Sorry this post is so long. Now for the mess that was waiting for us. We stopped at the grocery store for a few things before coming home, got here opened the fridge and whew....... so something happen to it and it's not working. Not sure how long it has been out but everything was thawed and hot. Dennis pulled the fridge out and looked at the back of it, moved a few wires around and all at once I saw sparks fly and smoke and him jumping up to unplug it. So apparently it has a short in it somewhere. Glad that didn't happen while we were away. So now we have a repair man coming in on Monday.

The next morning hubby we out to get his car out of the garage and put mine in and his wouldn't start. Dead battery, so he jumped it and got it started and it then it started billowing smoke from under the hood. This morning it goes to the shop, hope it's nothing to serious. Later in the day Dennis gets out his fairly new apple laptop and there is something going wrong with it now. Hopefully that is just a battery issue.

Other than all this stuff that happen since we've been home we had a wonderful vacation and Christmas. Hope you all had a good one. I didn't get on line but one time while we were gone so I missed everyone and am now trying to get caught up on the post I've missed. I wish you all a Happy New Year.
